yeah! Hackney some important changes
I’ve had a bit of a spring clean on yeah! Hackney, the changes should help make things a little easier for everyone and make the site a little brighter. Bear with me while I make sure everything is working and leave your comments below.
What’s changed?
Well, a fair bit. There is a new theme, a new flow and a few tweaks on features here and there.
Easier to find discussions
The discussion are now front and centre. Some users were confused by the activity stream on the home page, so the first thing you see is now the discussion forums from across yeah! Hackney. You can easily see what the discussion is, who started it, when, how many comment and who was the last person to add their voice. But don’t fear, the activity stream is still there. You can see it on the sidebar, where it will change depending on the context of the page (e.g. on a groups page it wil show that group’s activity) or by going to the activity page.
You can find your stuff easier
You’ll notice a new profile box on every page, this is there to help you find your own content easier.
From here you can easily get to conversations you have started or taken part in and you are 1 click away from your full profile.
Mobile friendly
The new site is much easier to view on a mobile, this means when you are out and about you can read up on local goings on in Hackney
There are a few more changes that you will notice along the way, if you have any questions, please ask below.

Looks great!

Just noticed that groups are showing activity as home rather than the forums, I will add that to the list of things to update.

That bit is sorted – yay!

Looks great, Emily โ now you didn’t think I’d say that, did you! ๐
ewebber
Well I almost put a big picture of you on it, but I pulled it at the last minute ๐
Thanks, glad you like it

Only worth doing if you want to lose your 2290 members really quickly…

A small update that also happened in the last bunch was a change to the member urls, which has removed the /member/ from the link. e.g. instead of http://www.yeahhackney.com/member/ewebber I am now http://www.yeahhackney.com/ewebber
You can also now log in with your email address, in case you forget your username.
