I had a chance to briefly chat with Hackney’s Charlie Forman (the borough’s Chief Olympic Officer) about opportunities for Hackney residents to get engaged in the games. Prior to the games, they are planning an \open day” at the Olympic Park for residents as well as an Olympic Borough swimming competition at the Aquatic Centre. Further details on these events will be posted here soon.Borough-specific ticket opportunities will also be available for the series of Olympic “test events” taking place in the new year as well as the Paralympics. In addition anyone interested in supporting Hackney’s 2012 efforts can volunteer with the borough as a “Hackney host”:http://www.hackney.gov.uk/2012-hackney-hosts.htm“
