During times such as these the need for community based initiatives really becomes clear. Come along to meet others and to watch learn and eat.
Presenting positive pictures and providing a discussion space for people to be inspired proactive and positive members of our flourishing Hackney community. It’s a space for learning sharing ideas and finding solutions to challenges that our locality faces such as peak oil climate change and an unsustainable economy in ways that strengthen community.
For the third event we will be screening ‘In Transition 1.0: from oil dependence to local resilience’ the first detailed film about the Transition movement filmed by those that know it best those who are making it happen on the ground. The Transition movement is about communities responding to peak oil and climate change with creativity imagination and humour and setting about rebuilding their local economies and communities. It is positive solutions focused viral and fun.
The screening will be followed by group discussion on:”Hackney In Transition: What’s already happening and what needs to happen?”
7.00pm – Food Share – Bring a dish and take a little from the many dishes provided by others
8.00pm – Film screening
9.00pm – Discussion and presentation from success stories within the Transition Network
