SHOREDITCH FESTIVAL 2012 WELCOMES OLYMPIC FLAME TO HACKNEY14 to 22 July 2012, Regent’s Canal, London N1 & E8, Free

 

From 14 to 22 July 2012 Shoreditch Trust presents its eleventh Shoreditch Festival – a free programme of performance entertainment and exploration along the Regent’s Canal and across Shoreditch. Shoreditch Festival one of Hackney’s largest free festivals showcases the best of East London with live music dance theatre arts exhibitions food markets and plenty more with crafts floats and boats. Highlights include a celebration of one of Shoreditch’s most imaginative and historic locations with the Hoxton Street Party on 14 July followed by a weekend of live music and performance beside theRegent’s Canal on 21 and 22 July. On Saturday 21 July Shoreditch Festival welcomes the Olympic Flame to Hackney on its first day in the Host Boroughs. Saturday 14 JulyHoxton Street Party at Shoreditch Festival – 10am til late Hoxton Street Free Hoxton Street will be filled with activities and performances including street dance – Ebonessence Nemesis ExZeb Dimensions circus acts – Mimbre Youth Circus tea dances – Mr. Wonderful theatre shows– Silent Shakespeare Retz Collective’s O Brave New World craft areas – Ministry of Stories Hoxton Hall workshops live music – GLA Rhythm of London buskers Barbican drummers and The Stamp Collective arts exhibitions – PEER A. Brooks Art Shoreditch Trust’s Forgotten Games exhibitionShoreditch Spa health hub plus an array of market stalls. Sunday 15 JulyShoreditch Bark Dog Show – 1pm Registration 2pm Judging Shoreditch Park Free Pooches on parade compete in hotly contested categories in Shoreditch Park. Monday 16 to Friday 20 JulyShoreditch Festival 2011 at Waterhouse Restaurant – 10 Orsman Road N1 5QJ (Free entry) Shoreditch Trust’s canalside social enterprise Waterhouse Restaurant hosts Festival events.
