\Security guards have no right to prevent street photography
An interesting article from the British Journal of Photography about your rights when it comes to taking photos of buildings. I particularly like the line about the size of camera vs its perceived threat. Hurrah. Now, what are the odds that it’ll make it down to security guards on the ground? The only grey area there is what counts as a public place – does it mean the public highway, or somewhere to which the public generally has access? (Just as an example, how about the land in front of the shiny buildings in Spitalfields, which is private land)
