Pop Up Housing In Kingsland Road (opposite The Waste)
Levitt-Bernstein have won a competition to turn some old Council Estate garages into pop-up housing to provide low cost homes in the current housing shortage. In order to get the garages to meet building regs pre-fabricated inserts are put into the existing garages making them even smaller!Looks like an interesting project worth keeping an eye on.See the visuals here.. http://www.dezeen.com/2012/10/25/pop-up-housing-in-garages-by-levitt-bernstein/“

Couldn’t they be demolished and replaced with designed-for-purpose housing?

Amusing that pop up has replaced the slightly less fashionable term pre fab.
