Pig’s ear beer & cider festival 3rd – 7th Dec 2013
This year’s festival is back at the round chapel on Lower Clapton Road, £4 entry (or £2 for members)
Open 12noon – 11pm (or midnight on Saturday) I think we’re going on the Friday with @mattyc

This is annually the best thing about December (clearly better than Christmas)- will definitely be going on the Friday. East London CAMRA have a Storify account that they’re using to collect images coverage and tweets etc about the festival which makes me thirsty just thinking about it.”

mmmmmmm… beer 🙂

Not long now- any of you thirsty Hackney folk planning on heading over? There’s a beer list here and there’s plenty to be excited by.”

Ah the beer festival, a great excuse to get pis**d up while pretending to be a connoisseur of the brown and amber stuff. Well that’s why I’m going anyway.

Will check it out – there have been a LOT of beer festivals in the area lately – The Clapton Hart and The Crooked Billet both had one last week and weekend, couldn’t they spread them about a bit?

OR the local pubs and new shops could all continue to do it around the same time to try to make Clapton famous for a yearly beer festival, witht he CAMRA one at the centre? Oktoberfest style beer tents in St Johns etc?

@gavinredknap Good idea. @claptoncraft @fiantic

Clapterfest would indeed be amazing

The Clapton Fringe (or perhaps Pig’s Fringe Festival) – beer, comedy and music, set around the main event of the Pig’s Ear Festival. Seems silly not to do something like that seeing as its been based in the area so long (and hopefully will continue to be so) and so many brewers and real ale pubs have recently opened up shop.

Well, East London CAMRA @pigsearcamra have just favorited the suggestion on Twitter if that’s anything to go by.

I think I’ll raise it with a few landlords and CAMRA when I’m doing my bit for the real ale community this Saturday.
