Our newly formed Hackney Coalition to Save the NHS includes doctors, hospital workers, trades unionists, pensioners, Labour party members and councillors, pensioners, patients’ groups, community groups, local trade unions and Hackney Keep Our NHS Public.
We came together to organise against the government’s Health & Social Care Bill, which has now resumed its headlong progress through parliament, and which will throw open the floodgates to private healthcare companies to take over our health services.
Following the Hands Around the Homerton demonstration on Saturday 16 July, we are calling a meeting on Wednesday 3 August at 6.30 pm in the London Fields Medical Centre.
This meeting will organise the next steps in our campaign to save the NHS – please do your best to attend. (The Health & Social Care Bill is due in the Lords in September.)
