New text editor for topics and replies

Thanks to the efforts of a great plugin developer, I can now have a more usable visual editor for forum posts and replies. The features are pretty similar to those you saw before, except now you won’t see any of the code – a relief for some of you. For those that do like to see code there is also an HTML option that will allow you to use the same tags as the visual editor. I think it makes a nice addition to the website and I hope you do too. -o0o- Images are still to be used in the same way as before: www.yeahhackney.com/2011/04/adding-images-to-your-forum-posts/ And you can still add youtube clips and flickr photos by simply pasting the address of the page that the video is on, embed codes will not work

  1. Good one!The html code was a bit of a distraction.

  2. @jamieb I kinda like the html code 🙂 But I think this is more usable for everyone. It does mean that we no longer have the username autocomplete when posting something anymore. But I think the trade off is worth it – What do you (or anyone else) think?”

  3. I haven’t really been using the @usernames properly because I’m slack (but will try and do better), but I can’t see it being too much of an issue. And happy birthday @ewebber!

  4. Thanks 🙂
