New features carousel

you may well have noticed the new carousel on the home page, we are testing to see if it affects anything else on the site, but it’s great to have a place to show some featured content.
Hope you like it

Looks good. Works on the iPhone as well. Which is nice.

Looks good. Only thing is that it doesn’t seem to work on Chrome, but worked fine on Safari though.

  7. yeahhackney - 28 May 2011, 10:15 am

Hi @philaldis Chrome is my browser of choice and it works on mine, can you give me some more details, e.g. Chrome version, operating system, what you are seeing – thanks

Weird – I went back to double check and it started working. Who knows what happened, but it’s working now. So, my comment should now just read \looks good!”.”

hey, I had the same problem yesterday, on both Firefox and Safari. First it was working, then it wasn’t. Now it’s working again. I’ll let you know if it happens again.

Hi @saladefolle when you say not working, can you let me know what you actually saw, it will help me work out what was going on

  12. saladefolle - 28 May 2011, 11:20 am

sure โ€“ the box that contains the carousel was just empty. I thought Flash had crashed (is it a Flash thing?), but then I didn’t have the same problem on other sites. And I didn’t need to restart for it to work again, so it looks like it was just a temporary glitch.

  13. yeahhackney - 28 May 2011, 11:24 am

Thanks, that’s really useful. It’s not flash so that isn’t why, I think I can implement some kind of work around so that isn’t so obvious if it happens again.

Ok, I made a change that might work, let me know if you see it (or don’t see it) again – thanks
