About me |
Born in the Mothers Hospital in 1947. Went to Northwold school then on to Wordsworth School in Stoke Newington. Left school aged 15 years and had a few jobs before my first longish job as a hospital porter at Hackney Hospital for four years from 1965-69, then became a postman at Clapton Sorting Office where I stayed until 1987 when I became a Park Patroller on Hackney Council, and after three years, I became an estate cleaner and for a couple of years, before returning to estate cleaner, worked with Special Projects and the Hit Squad where I drove about the estates in a Scarab Major(a lorry that’s a giant and powerful vacumn cleaner) helping to keep them clean.
I took early retirement in 1997.
We moved away from Hackney in 1993, up to Hutton in Essex for ten years, and now we live in a lovely little village close to the river Humber, in North Lincolnshire.
My main hobby is metal detecting and I was voted in as Chairman of the Scunthorpe Metal Detecting Society, something which I enjoy very much. I do keep a club web site up and running if you would like to have a visit to it:- http://www.scunthorpemds.webeden.co.uk
