I finally got around to reading Amis’s London Fields – it’s a really good yarn. And I dip in and out of Sinclair’s Orbital every now and again – learnt a lot about London actually as I haven’t lived in this city all that long (5 yrs or so)..pretty good.

Hey I volunteered at one of these shelter last year and I have to say, it was fantastic! It really changed my perception /corrected my misgivings about homelessness and homeless people and had some amazing chats with the guests. On the topic of lamb samosas, I go to Appetite after my swims at the London fields Lido – and they do really cheap and cheerful food in there. You can get a lamb samosa or veg samosa plus coffee for just over 2 pounds! Or bacon tomato cheese croissant plus coffee also just over 2 pounds. They heat it up for you too. Fab!

I took M to the Anglo Asian Restaurant on Stokie Church St a couple of weeks back. random bit of triv, a director once told me that if you ever spot a fluorescent (green, yellow or orange but always fluorescent) arrow sign with “site xyz123” randomly tied to a lamp-post or railing or some such, it is an indication of an ongoing shoot location.

Blue Legume on stokie church st is really nice for veggies or non-veggies. My favourite is Croque Madame and the Eggs florentine.

Really dislike London Fields Cycle – 1. always “fully booked” 2. some of the senior staff members are really snarky to pple who don’t know much abt bikes (i.e. me). 3. super expensive. for their premium prices, I can take my bike to a branded store like Condor and get a better service.

A S Cycles at top of Chatsworth Road (Homerton Hospital end) is really friendly and personal and no way over priced

I got my bike serviced at the bike yard east in hackney city farm once – the woman sorted my brakes out and gave me new cables. All done in a day and cost me 27pounds. it was a sunday too. still very grateful – my brakes have been a dream since.

This is my personal blog http://cuii.tumblr.com/ – which, incidentally, uses Fuck Yeah Themes – no joke. I don’t have a Hackney/Clapton blog yet – I shd though. I’ve tried blogspot, wordpress but my favorite so far is tumblr just because it seems simpler to use and I do like the Dashboard thing. I live in lower Clapton and I heart Clapton!

Shacklewell Arms on shacklewell lane. Cassi is the lovely landlady. Sometimes amazing jerk chicken bbq going on. A nice place to sit and read, drink or chill out to good tunes. Definitely an option for those who shun the over-crowded trendy hangs in Hackney.
