Leadbridge ward, Hackney – new to the area!

Hi everybody! I’ve just started a postgraduate journalism course at City University and I will be reporting on the Leabridge ward for the next 6 months or so. I’m new to the area and am currently exploring issues, projects and events which are taking place in the area. I’d be most grateful if somebody could give me a prod towards anything interesting which may be taking place in the area. Are there any organisations or groups who have strong opinions? Any organisations that I can speak to to find out more about local issues? Perhaps there are some really promising sports teams (i.e Sunday league) who receive very little coverage? Are there any problems affecting the community? Has the Olympics left a positive or negative legacy in the area? If there are any local residents or groups who can give me an insight into the area it would be much appreciated. Similarly if people are starting a new venture or project I’d be keen to hear about it. Thank you all very much for your time! Best — Romil
