Holy Trinity Primary School – Beechwood Rd
2013/0457The plans for the site of Holy Trinity Primary School on Beechwood Road involve the demolition of the existing school buildings and construction of a ten storey replacement building which would provide a replacement two form nursery and primary school with for up to 460 children at ground and first floor with 101 homes on the upper floors. It’s the site at the southern end of Dalston Square. Here’s the Design & Access statement;http://idox.hackney.gov.uk/WAM/doc/Other-383626.pdf?extension=.pdf&id=383626&location=VOLUME1&contentType=&pageCount=1I think it generally a good and innovative design but it’s a shame that Roseberry Place still has to feed the underground car park for Dalston Sq otherwise the pedestrianised square could be extended all the way south to Forest Rd.”

And an article on its rejection;http://www.hackneygazette.co.uk/news/dalston_school_s_flats_building_plan_to_fund_primary_places_rejected_1_2244932 Personally I liked the idea (at least from a quick assessment of its exterior);http://idox.hackney.gov.uk/WAM/doc/Drawing-383680.pdf?extension=.pdf&id=383680&location=VOLUME1&contentType=&pageCount=1“
