Hackney Central Bar / Former Station building

Work is being carried out on the old Hackney Central bar but I can’t find any info on what they’re doing, has anyone got a clue?

  1. I’ve been wondering the same thing myself. They must have spent a fortune on it about ten years ago – it used to be quite a swanky place.

  2. @line1 I found this from Hackney Central councillors blog from May last year;\Hackney Council has been working with TfL and Network Rail to make Hackney Central station accessible and also refurbish the grand old Victorian ticket hall to be the new station entrance putting the station centre stage on the high street.Whilst it is still intended to install lifts and there has been progress designing the new station and cafe the refurbishment has stalled for lack of cash.”http://hackneycentrallabour.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/keeping-hopes-alive-for-hackney-central.html
