free schools – parents’ views
Is there a demand for free schools?
Promoting increased parental choice and school competition, Education Secretary Michael Gove says that ‘setting up free schools can greatly improve standards for all children’. Conversely, the National Union of Teachers highlights that ‘choice and competition are ideological obsessions. They don’t raise standards but widen inequalities’. As the principles behind the free schools reform remain a common point of contention, this study wants to explore what parents living in Hackney think about the free schools policy. Please take a moment to complete this questionnaire.Access survey here
