Get Smart FREE Half-Term Workshops! Picturehouse Education is delighted to offer free filmmaking workshops to the children of Hackney! Our friends at Get Smart the innovative film and media creative curriculum workshop for schools are offering a limited number of lucky children the chance to write direct and edit their own movie! The workshop will be for a focused group of just twelve lucky children between the ages of 8-10. Sessions will be taking place during the half-term on Monday 17 February at: Hackney Picturehouse: 1.45-4pm How to apply for a place:If you’d like to join us please ask your parents to email elinor.w@picturehouses.co.uk with a few words from you about which movie you find most inspiring and why and your name age a contact telephone number and that you’d like to attend the session at Hackney Picturehouse. We will choose 12 lucky children to take part in each workshop please apply early to avoid disappointment! The free film workshop will last for 2 hours during which children will be introduced to the basics of camerawork scriptwriting and editing. It will be fast-paced fun and an all round incredible learning experience. All children will finish the day with a short movie made and ready to take home with them. All work will be done on iPads provided by Get Smart; children will leave the workshop with knowledge of affordable apps that will allow them go home and get creating in their free time.
