FILMPHONICS and TILT-SHIFT CINEMA Presents: THE GREAT WHITE SILENCE (Live Score)
Be intrepid and brace yourselves to experience the ill-fated frontier-pushing adventure story of the century. Captain Scott’s voyage to the South Pole as documented by Herbert Ponting Scott’s official photographer and cinematographer. Witness stunning images of natural beauty wildlife and human endeavour & bravery from 100 years ago restored last year by the BFI’s National Archive.
Join Filmphonics and Tilt-Shift Cinema for a night of epic penguin-filled Antarctic exploring! The film will be brought to life by a new live score composed by Royal College of Music composer Will Temlett especially for the night; mixing instruments old and new to create an atmospheric and evocative soundscape for this: The Great White Silence.

For those of you not at the Hackney Weekender, or watching the footie, there are other options… I’d recommend this! A violin quintet & harp bring to life this amazing documentary from 100 years ago, detailing the last expedition of Captain Scott as he made his way to the Antarctic. It’s going to be a stunning experience with an original score by Royal College of Music composer Will Temlett written especially for the night, films highlighting the plight faced by the arctic now & a reading of Captain Scott’s moving final letter to his wife. Football’s on every weekend but this is a true one off; Don’t miss it!
