We’re really excited to be able to give you the details for our February meeting – The Darlings, are going on location! That’s right, on Wednesday February 2nd at 7pm, we’ll be shaken not stirred as head mixologist, Hannah Lanfear (Bungalow 8, Milk & Honey and Glo Glo’s), will be demonstrating and discussing the art and story of the Martini. From its first incarnation at the sweeter Martinez through its many guises, Hannah will follow the story of how fashion dried the martini out from the cult drink that swept the nation of America until the severe serves of the Ultra Dry martinis of Wall Street circa the 80s. She’ll be making Roosevelt’s preferred serve, exploring the science behind making the perfect martini and teaching you how to make perfect martinis in your own home.If you’ve ever had a martini and not liked it for being too strong, you will find a perfectly mixed martini made to your palette that will completely change your mind! And if you’ve always liked martinis, you’re in luck.The talk and demonstratin will kick off at 7pm sharp so please can you RSVP so that we are aware of numbers. Afterwards, once we’re fully lubricated, the last part of Wednesdays meeting will be a get-to-know-your-fellow-Darling.January has never been a better time to plan a WI excursion either, so come with your thinking caps on.
