  1. My favourite festival moment was at Reading. We arrived early, pitched our tent and then went off to get drunk. We returned to find a dozen tents camped in a circle around us. Instant friends!

  2. Emerging from a heaving dance tent at Rock Ness, to catch Fatboy Slim playing as the sun went down over the loch was very special indeed. Cheap cider only amplified the sense of glory!

  3. I was working Glastonbury in the early eighties on a hamburger stall – run from a camper van.  I was supposed to be working the Saturday Afternoon shift but my boss had asked me – at the last moment – to take on the Friday evening shift. Unfortunately, he hadn’t noticed that (assuming I was free that evening) I had imbibed more than a handful of magic mushrooms. So filled with un deserved confidence and a messed up thermal sense I proceeded to cook for a bunch of  very wet & muddy punters. All seemed well until one of the punters returned to the hatch of the burger van brandishing a very rare burger saying that it was totally uncooked. unfortunately, this coincided with the return of my boss who looking at the burger and then the grill screamed – you idiot – the gas isn’t on. In my delicate state I was offended by this seemingly unmerited aggression – I therefore pulled the apron I was wearing over my head and in one leap jumped out of the van – shouting back that he need not pay me for my hard labour. Not sure precisely how many people i served with what was essentially Steak tartare – but there must have been at least 20. Strangely, I was never invited back.

  4. In 2008, stumbling aimlessly through the Glastonbury site weary in body and mind I happened across Laura Marling on the Park Stage as the sun set.  Her charm and warmth shone through the melancholy of her songs and as the set progressed I felt myself reviving. By the end I was smiling from ear to ear, full of energy for the final night of the festival. Wonderful.

  5. The competition is now closed, thanks for your entries.Once the create London have picked a winner, I will publish it here.
