Community Skill Share May 8th
I am organising a community skill share day on Sunday May 8th and would love some input on how/what to add it! So far, I have people who can teach drumming, origami, tai chi, sewing, and tango. If there are other people who would like to teach something for an hour or two, or know someone else who would be interested, please send them my way!The idea is to get a diverse mix of skills and people, so anything is possible! My email is lauren.gross@yahoo.com

Hi Lauren,
I am fairly new to this group but love your idea, i think it is great. I am not sure what I could teach beyond how to play a few nirvana covers or use twitter but I am definitely interested in attending just not to sure what skills i have that people would find useful.
Thanks,
Damien

Yeah I know what you mean. It’s really hard to come up with something to teach. It could be anything really, like for me it could be how to french braid hair or make a duct tape wallet. But no worries, you are more than welcome to just come check it out!

@laurengross Sounds great, can you tell me anymore about the History of Hackney storytelling?
laurengross
Hey!
Yeah, there is a woman, Monica, from the Hackney Society that knows A TON about the area. She is going to bring some books that the Hackney Society publishes every year and will talk about some of the buildings, events, pictures, and stories that are a part of the history of the area.

I was away this weekend, so couldn’t make it – how did it go?

Hey! The day was brilliant! There ended up being 14 workshops and around 80-100 people who attended. There was good vibes all day and free food. I’m super happy people learned new things and there were new connections made! For sure will keep you posted on the next one!!
Love,
Lauren
