First this is a Hackney issue as a number of the victims of this incident were from Shoreditch
As Vice- chair of the group working, with Tower Hamlets council, Columbia Tenants & Residents Association and the Dorset Centre, to erect a memorial in the Rose garden of Sivill House Columbia Rd to remember those who died on the night of the 7th sept 1940

(largest such incident on the first night of the Blitz) I wondered if you would be willing to put a collection tin on your bar for us- details of the incident can be found on our website http://columbiamarketwarmemorial.wordpress.com/

  1. At long last a confirmed date for the fundraising quiz! It will take place on Monday 24th November at 8.30pm and will take place at Ye Olde Black Bull, 13 Broadway, Stratford. E15 4BQ. The cost of entry will be £3 per person with Teams of up to 6 people. There will be a prize for the winning Team and a Raffle. The Quiz will be set by Leonard Sinclair and his wife Pauline who run successful and highly entertaining quizzes each month at Ye Olde Black b Bull. Thanks to Joan and Michael, the Landlord and Landlady of the pub for their support. JUST TURN UP AND PLAY
