Cold Weather Night Shelter at St Peter De Beauvoir Town
Over 3,000 Londoners are sleeping rough this winterJanuary to March are the coldest months of the year, and are especially hard for London’s many homeless people. The Cold Weather Night Shelter in St Peter’s Crypt (De Beauvoir Road) provides hot food, a bed and breakfast to 15 homeless people every Monday night during these months (six other churches in the area cover the rest of the week). Our shelter is run by volunteers and funded by donations. As one of our helpers, you can make a real difference to the lives of our guests by helping to cook an evening meal or breakfast, serve, clean up, socialise or sleep the night. You will work as part of a supportive and friendly team of young and old from right across the community. Come along to our introductory meeting to find out more. If you miss this though, rest assured that you will always be working alongside experienced people and supported on the job.If you are too busy to volunteer, find out about how to make a donation towards the running cost of the shelter. We appreciate all help. For further details, our information meeting is open to everyone on Monday 12 December at 7.30pm in St Peter’s Crypt.
