  2. \Memoirs of an East End Guttersnipe” is the intriguing title of a talk by Brian Walker who has lived all his life in Clapton and who has fascinating stories to tell about the people and places which formed the backdrop to his early life such as The Clapton Cowboy Tex Withers Jenny Pepper’ole and the Great Battle of Lea Bridge and chimneysweep May Nelson who won fame as the Champion Female Boxer of Britain.  Brian’s talk will take place at the Levy Centre at 18-24 Lower Clapton Road E5 (opposite King’s Hall Leisure Centre) at 3.00pm on Saturday 28th September.
