Cancer Research UK Art Project
Just to introduce myself my name is Gemma and I am the area volunteer manager in East London for Cancer Research UK. I decided I wanted to work for Cancer Research UK after a number of my close friends and family were touched by Cancer. My job is to inspire and drive fundraising in the East London area. As young person that loves living in East London I was shocked to hear that East London has the highest mortality rate for the top five most common cancers in the London Area. I am also an amateur artist who absolutely loves all types of art, with experience in working on Arts events. I have decided to team my love of art along with my passion for fundraising for Cancer Research UK and was wondering if you or anyone you know could help me! I am looking to put together a group of people that are willing to work with me to put on an art exhibition this summer to fundraise for Cancer Research UK. With the full support of myself and the rest of the London team, we would all work together to source a venue, promote and over see the organisation of the exhibition. The individuals would not have to give a donation at any point, I am just asking for some of their time (the amount would be decided entirely by the individual) and their creative ideas! You do not necessarily have to be artistic or have any events experience, your enthusiasm is what counts!
