Bump Buddies maternity support programme

Bump Buddies is a programme run by the Shoreditch Trust. The programme was set up in 2007 as part of the City and Hackney Reducing Infant Mortality Programme.Bump Buddies are a team of locally trained mothers who offer their time to locate and support vulnerable women living in Hackney. The programme aims, through both individual and group outreach, to encourage women to engage with maternity services early in pregnancy and to support them in making healthy choices in pre-conception, pregnancy and post pregnancy. The service can also offer women 1-2-1 emotional support throughout pregnancy and in specific areas such as healthy eating and breastfeeding.
