Break-making and tea at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden this weekend (14 October)
Come along to the Garden this Sunday and join in making delicious breads from around the world, using fresh herbs from the Garden. This is not a workshop, but a chance for you to bring along a favourite recipe to share – so far we have a promise of Irish Soda Bread – or even bring some dough you have prepared at home. The flour, sugar, and other ingredients will be provided. Everything will be baked in the Garden’s clay oven, before we all sit down to enjoy fresh bread with a nice cup of tea.‘Time for Tea’ is a one day festival spread over three locations in Dalston to mark ‘World Mental Health Day’. Gillett Square will be transformed into a ‘pop-up village’ for the afternoon, with activities for all the family, from knitting, jewellery making, croquet and a free tea lounge with tea and cake, to a replica of Tate Modern called “Tight Modern” displaying 50 miniature works. The bread-making afternoon at the Garden is aimed at adults, but children are very welcome to join in.‘Time for Tea’ is in association with: Hackney Community Services, East London NHS Foundation Trust, Gillett Squared, Studio Upstairs and Time To Change. Sounds a hoot! http://us2.campaign-archive2.com/?u=2210320d61bc318f062c521d4&id=ab61dfc155&e=c446a0a8b4″
