Bouchon Fourchette Cafe on Mare Street

I’m not sure how long it’s been open now, but Bouchon Fourchette is on Mare St  near the Well St junction. It got a decent review from Fay Maschler last week;http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/restaurants/bouchon-fourchette-8512563.html171 Mare Street E8 (020 8986 2702) Mon 5pm-10pm. 1. Went last Saturday, slightly hit and miss but more hit than miss.Excellent white wine, very good steak tartare, very good baked camembert, good catch of the day but massively over seasoned on the under side of the fish. Slightly slow in service and food delivery but that didn’t bother us to much.On the pretty good and will go backRegardMark

  2. I’ve been a couple of times now, and am really impressed- friendly service (the owner in particular is really helpful), great value and excellent traditional bistro fare. The raclette is well worth the 12 quid charged, and the lunch offer is a bargain. It’s just a bit strange venturing back out onto Mare Street after such an authentic French experience…

  3. Very good. There were seven of us for a birthday meal and we were served quickly and well. Nice owner and food was great. Good value too. Authentic French waiter as well. Staff said it is going well and advised us to book. What a little gem in the unfashionable end of Mare Street (oh… is there a fashionable end?).

  4. Mare Street has its own sense of fashion. Long may it rest un-‘fashionable’.

  5. Have passed this a few times now and keen to try it. Will be sure to post back when I do.
