Bike repairs
There is a great bike maintenance workshop in Stoke Newington / London Fields. I went along with a recurring problem I’ve been having with my bike (and repeatedly paying to be fixed) and he was able to figure out what the problem was, explain it to me and show me how to fix it. It’s a really great service. It’s run by volunteers so completely free, but they ask for a donation to help with the cost of hiring the hall and buying new tools. http://hackneybikeworkshop.com/

I bought my bike from these fellas – just over the other side of Victoria Park. They do repairs, refurbs and workshops. Fantastic organisation and loads of friendly help. Plus they’re pretty cheap! http://www.bikeworks.org.uk/

Hi @Loue, glad you’ve found the bike workshops helpful! After a very successful (and enjoyable) fund raising party at the Royal Sovereign in December we’ve managed to secure the Stoke Newington workshop (2nd Tuesday of the month) for 2011. The London FIelds workshop (1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month) is also a permanent fixture.

Hi @jamieb, I certainly did. And well done on the fundraising. It’s great the service can continue – a real asset to the community.
