Take a peek through the ragged curtains of a shared house in Hackney. Is there anything more than a broken boiler and a dodgy staircase to hold together a bunch of unlikely flatmates? A Taste of Marmite revives British kitchen sink realism in the 21st century with an international twist. Three defiant tenants and an enduring property manager embark on the quest to build their new life in London on solid foundations of petty theft lies and omissions. Social issues and cultural controversies come to light in this dark and humorous story of loneliness tenderness and delusion. An incredibly diverse cast brings to life the international concerns of the play:

Raquel Moreno

is Inés wealthy Spanish intern on a mission to save the children

Karen Katharine Oliveira

as Mandy from Romania is going to be a famous actress…once she has mastered her English!

Utkan Cagri Kocak

is Murat Turkish property manager with Don Quixote’s aspirations.

Following the success of How Can I Help? Writer-director Emilia Teglia continues ISCaD’s mission to explore the life of international Londoners through theatre.”
