Thrilled to announce that next Friday 6th the Dentist (33 Chatsworth Rd E5 0LH) be welcoming Israel Young, poet, raconteur and the man who set up the Folklore Centre in Greenwich Village in 1957, lost $200 promoting Bob Dylan’s first concert and at the age of 84 still hasn’t stopped tirelessly promoting Folk Music in his adopted country of Sweden.Israel will be talking about his extraordinary life in music and his work at the Folklore Centre promoting the likes of Patti Smith, Tim Buckley, Dave Van Ronk and Emmylou Harris (amonst many, many others) and reading some of his poetry.Live music and soup.
