‘The Amazings’ is all about retired people packaging up their skills, knowledge, experience and passions into activities which can be sold back to the community.
Last week we scoured the streets of Hackney recruiting people to help us set up a prototype of the project (you may have seen us in brightly coloured sandwich boards outside the town hall and at Broadway Market). We met loads of amazing people and we are now in the process of organising 10 activities around Hackney. They range from a Cockney rhyming slang lesson with the Pearly Queen of Hackney to a food forage and lunch in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.
